Keys are often lost or stolen, leaving property and assets vulnerable to theft. This in turn can be expensive as locks have to be changed.
Thankfully, when an electronic access card is lost or stolen, access rights can be cancelled immediately, rendering the card inactive and unusable.
With access control systems correctly in place security operators are able to identify which doors where breached in case of theft or unauthorised access and by whom. It is also possible to know if multiple access points where used to gain entry and the time the breach occurred.
With our modern access control systems it is also possible to offer flexible access rights, for example you may wish staff to be able to enter one or two main entrances whilst restricting the access of other areas or restrict access at certain times of the day.
Plastic electronic access control cards are the most usual forms to identify staff and other personal although biometric solutions are available such as facial, fingerprint or iris recognition.
Access control systems are now embracing IP, Open Platform Technology which allow these systems to integrate with the modern internet world.

NCP109 was updated in September 2013, to take in to account the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and also the Equalities Act 2012. All access control systems now have to be graded, in a similar way to Intruder Alarms, with Grade 1 being the lowest and Grade 4 being the highest, but unlike alarms each door can be graded separately. Emytec install many types of access control from stand alone to PC based and analogue to IP.
Emytec work in full accordance to the latest code of practice NCP109.
